Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

The German version of this policy is authoritative; this translation is provided for convenience.

1. Controller

Dr. Lukas Peichl, attorney at law, Esteplatz 4/13, 1030 Vienna, Austria, office@ra-peichl.at, tel. +43 1 712 33 30.

2. Scope of processing

This website is purely informational. Without your consent it sets no cookies and loads no analytics or tracking tools; there is no contact form. Images and style files come from the website’s own server; the website itself loads no fonts. Two third-party services are embedded, both only after your explicit consent: the Google Maps section on the home and contact pages (point 6) and ad measurement with Google Analytics (point 7). Until you consent, neither service is loaded and no connection to Google is made.

3. Hosting and server log data

This website runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, c/o Mindspace, 80331 Munich, Germany, or Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). All requests pass through its network. In the process, technically necessary data transmitted by your browser is processed: IP address, date and time of access, the file requested, the transfer status and browser and operating system identifiers. This serves the secure and uninterrupted operation of the website and the defence against attacks; the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with Cloudflare. I neither evaluate nor store these logs myself; deletion follows Cloudflare’s own retention periods (www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).

4. Getting in touch

If you contact me by e-mail, telephone or post, I process the information you provide in order to deal with your enquiry. Where the matter concerns a mandate or steps preceding one, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; in all other cases it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information arising from a mandate is additionally subject to my statutory duty of confidentiality as an attorney under section 9 RAO.

5. Disclosure and third countries

Information from your enquiry is disclosed only where necessary to conduct a mandate or required by law. Because of Cloudflare’s global network, operating the website may involve processing outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer relies on the European Commission’s adequacy decision C(2023) 4745 under Article 45 GDPR and, additionally, on the standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling.

6. Map (Google Maps)

The home page and the contact page can display a Google Maps map. The map is not loaded automatically: at first you see only a notice with a “Load map” button. As long as you do not click that button, no connection to Google is made and no data about you is transmitted to Google. Once you click, your browser transmits your IP address to Google along with the usual connection data (the address requested, the time, browser and operating system identifiers). Google may store cookies or comparable identifiers on your device and, if you are signed in to a Google account, associate the request with that account. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; processing by Google LLC in the United States cannot be ruled out. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer relies on the European Commission’s adequacy decision C(2023) 4745 under Article 45 GDPR and, additionally, on the standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021), given by clicking the button. On your first visit a notice appears at the bottom of the screen covering both embedded Google services together, with the two equally sized buttons “Allow” and “Decline”. Until you consent, no connection to Google is made; independently of the notice you can enable the map on its own at any time via “Load map”. A refusal is recorded in your browser’s local storage as well (entry “karte-erlaubt” with the value “ja” or “nein”) so that the notice does not reappear on every page. That entry holds nothing but this one fact, carries no identifier for you, is not transmitted to Google or anyone else, and is not a cookie. You can change your decision at any time with effect for the future: via “Privacy settings” in the footer, the “Stop loading the map automatically” button below the map, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Further information on Google’s processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Ad measurement (Google Analytics and Google Ads)

To measure the performance of my Google ads, this website uses Google Analytics 4 linked to Google Ads. This service, too, is not loaded automatically: on your first visit the joint notice covering both Google services (point 6) appears at the bottom of the screen, with the two equally sized buttons “Allow” and “Decline”. Only once you allow ad measurement does your browser load the Google tag (gtag.js, ID G-53J6NQB2MJ) from www.googletagmanager.com; before that, no connection to Google is made. After consent your browser transmits your IP address and the usual connection data to Google; Google sets cookies (including “_ga”) to recognise visits and attribute them to ad clicks. I only see aggregated statistics – such as page views and the number of visits following an ad click – and no details about you personally. The collected data is deleted after 14 months at the latest. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 165(3) TKG 2021. Your decision – including a refusal – is stored in your browser’s local storage (entry “messung-erlaubt” with the value “ja” or “nein”) so that the notice does not reappear on every page; that entry carries no identifier for you and is not transmitted to anyone. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” in the footer or by clearing this site’s data in your browser; Google cookies already set can be deleted in your browser settings. Further information on Google’s processing: policies.google.com/privacy.

8. External links

This website links to external pages. These are plain links; as long as you do not click them, no content from those pages is loaded and no data about you is transmitted.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access (Article 15 GDPR), to rectification (Article 16), to erasure (Article 17), to restriction (Article 18), to data portability (Article 20) and to object (Article 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at.
