App for iOS and Android

InsoRechner

InsoRechner calculates the costs of Austrian insolvency proceedings.

The app is intended for insolvency administrators, creditor protection associations, courts and fellow practitioners. I use it myself in the proceedings in which I am appointed.

The app calculates the statutory costs of the proceedings themselves. It does not calculate what legal representation costs, for instance my fee for representing a debtor before the court, the insolvency administrator and the creditors. We discuss that in the initial consultation.

Android: currently in testing.

The Android version is currently being tested. If you would like to use it early, send me the e-mail address of your Google account and you will receive the invitation to the test.

What it does

The tools

Costs of the proceedings

Remuneration of the insolvency administrator under sections 82 and 82a IO, including the increase and reduction under sections 82b and 82c IO, the remuneration of the privileged creditor protection associations under section 87a IO and the flat court fee under TP 6 GGG. The brackets are calculated tier by tier: each portion at the rate of its own tier. For continuation of the business, up to three initial months with a different remuneration can be entered.

Realisation of a special estate

The separate remuneration under section 82d IO, calculated on its own: under section 49 IO these costs are settled from the proceeds of the special estate and do not burden the general estate.

Remuneration / flat fee

The short route for association representatives and for the court. If you already have the net remuneration in front of you, you enter only that. If the net remuneration has already been calculated in the same case via the costs of the proceedings, the app suggests it.

Attachment-free minimum

The amount exempt from attachment in enforcement against earnings from employment under section 291a EO, for monthly, weekly and daily payment, based on the 2026 or 2027 amounts; the 2027 amounts are derived from the compensatory allowance reference rate (Ausgleichszulagenrichtsatz) already promulgated and are marked as a preview. For daily or weekly payment the app also shows the average attachable amount per month. Plus the relative minimum quota: what could the debtor raise from that income over five, three or two years? That shows whether an offered payment plan or restructuring plan is adequate in amount.

The statutory text is included

The current version of the Austrian Insolvency Code is fetched from the federal legal information system RIS and is then available without an internet connection, with full-text search and a jump list covering every section.

Every input section carries an “i”. Tapping it shows an explanation of that section, usually with the wording of the provision that matters at that point.

Several cases

If you handle several proceedings in the app, you create a case for each of them. It brings together the debtor, case number, court and the entries in all tools. The case list can be searched and filtered by court. Cases can be copied, deleted and passed on as a file, one at a time or several at once, including between iPhone and Android. As you type the name of the court, the app suggests Austrian courts together with their address. If you do not create cases, you keep working with a single set of entries as before.

Passing results on

On request each tool produces a PDF with the basis of the calculation, the breakdown and the total, or a short version for e-mail and notes. The case number and court appear in the header, and the PDF also gives the court’s address.

On the device

All calculation happens on the device. The app needs no account and no sign-in, shows no advertising and does not analyse how you use it.

It goes online only for the statutory text: to download it and, once it is stored, to check at most once a day whether a newer version is available. Your entries leave the device only when you share a result or export cases as a file yourself.

Note The app is an aid for an approximate calculation. It replaces neither a legal assessment of the individual case nor advice from an attorney, and it relates exclusively to Austrian insolvency proceedings; it does not apply to insolvency proceedings in Germany.

App privacy

The app processes no personal data on the provider’s side. It calculates entirely on your device: no provider server, no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no usage analysis.

The values you enter, including the debtor’s name if you record it for an export, stay in the device’s own storage and leave it only if you share or export them yourself. You can delete them at any time.

When you tap the download symbol, the app retrieves the current statutory text from RIS, operated by the Austrian Federal Chancellery. Once the text is stored, the app also checks at start-up, at most once a day, whether RIS holds a newer version. In both cases your IP address is transmitted; the recipient is the Federal Chancellery, not the provider of the app, and no data from the app is sent.

If you use the app professionally and enter data from a case file, you are the controller of that data; the provider of the app is not a processor.
